Today in Blagoevgrad, the winners of the Tenth National Student Competition "Rila National Park - Known and Unknown" were awarded.„

The Directorate of Rila National Park and the partners from the Municipality of Blagoevgrad, the Regional Department of Education, the Center for Personal and Creative Development of Children of Blagoevgrad and the South-Eastern Development Center - Blagoevgrad announced the results and winners of the tenth anniversary edition of the competition. The event took place at 11:30 a.m. at the Center for Personal and Creative Development of Children of Blagoevgrad.

At the awards ceremony included Petar Dimitrov, Deputy Minister of Environment and Water, Hristo Angelov - Deputy Regional Governor of Blagoevgrad Region, Krasimir Andonov - Director of the Rila National Park Directorate, Bogdana Kostadinova - Director of the Center for Regional Development and Water Resources-Blagoevgrad, Eng. Vera Stanisheva - Head of Department at the South-West Regional Development Agency - Blagoevgrad, Simona Mitova - Director of the Education Directorate in Blagoevgrad Municipality, Boryana Shalyavska - from the team of Metodi Baykushev, Mayor of Blagoevgrad Municipality, Aneta Stoyanova, Senior Expert in Natural Sciences and Ecology at the Regional Development Agency - Blagoevgrad, Prof. Dr. Emil Kukov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krum Ivanov from the South-West University "N. Rilski", Lyubima Dimitrova - writer, journalist at Radio Blagoevgrad Elizabeth Alexandrova. The event was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Basin Directorate "ZBR", the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water-Blagoevgrad, the directorates of the Pirin and Central Balkan national parks and the Rila Monastery natural park, many students and their leaders and parents.

Prizes are awarded to children from the towns of Ihtiman, Veliko Tarnovo, Popovo, Blagoevgrad, Pleven, Petrich, Kazanlak, Targovishte, Cherven Bryag, Teteven, Samokov, Lovech, Simitli, Kardzhali, Kyustendil, Sredishte, Sandanski, Gotse Delchev, Yambol, Parvomay, etc.

496 students from all over the country participated in the tenth edition of the competition, and a competent jury determined the best 68 works from a total of 278 drawings, 19 stories, poems and essays, 94 photographs, 60 multimedia presentations and 45 works of applied eco-design.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Petar Dimitrov awarded the employee of the Rila National Park Directorate, Eng. Rumen Kolchagov, for exemplary performance of his duties, for demonstrated professionalism and personal contribution to identifying and preventing violations of the protection regimes of Rila National Park.

The musical performances in the program were by the contemporary dance ensemble at the Central Ballet Theatre and Dance Center, led by Ms. Desi Terziyska, and VIP UP THE DANCE, and the sixth-grader from Blagoevgrad, Ivelina Stambolieva, recited the poem "Beauty".

The students' drawings, photographs and models made from natural and recyclable materials are exhibited in the building of the Center for the Study of Natural Resources and Environment - Blagoevgrad, after which they will be used for traveling exhibitions of the Rila National Park Directorate.
