A team of career consultants works in the Career Guidance Department at the Center for Higher Education and Training of Secondary Education. The team has established positions in its work with schools in the Blagoevgrad region and successfully interacts with principals, teachers, pedagogical advisors and parents.
To facilitate students in choosing education, profession and work, in planning and achieving their dream of a professional career, career consultants from Career Guidance at the Center for Personal and Creative Development of Children of Blagoevgrad offer individual and group consultations on educational and career planning and development.
The mission of the Career Guidance Center is to create prerequisites and conditions for the construction of a modern and effective system of career guidance in school education in the territory of Blagoevgrad district.
Career guidance is a building block and gradually expanding procedure. It includes activities for informing, advising, consulting and assisting in decision-making in the context of transition between educational levels and/or between education and the labor market.
Career counselors carry out individual, group and diagnostic work with students from all levels of school education for:
- Improving motivation for learning;
- Developing skills for planning study and personal time;
- Overcoming typical mistakes related to the choice of education and profession;
- Supporting students at risk of dropping out of school by guiding them towards self-knowledge, self-determination and influencing their value orientation.

- Interactive exercises for career guidance for students – 80 pcs.;
- Thematic films for career guidance for students – 30 pcs.;
- Tests and questionnaires on interests, abilities, attitudes and values for students in grades 7/8 and 11/12;
- Information characteristics of the profiles and professions studied in the educational system;
- Career Consultant's Handbook;
- State plan-admission;
- Regulations regulating the organization of activities in school education, the terms and conditions for admitting students to various types of schools;
- Guidelines for organizing and conducting school career guidance forums;
- Guidelines for conducting discussions on thematic films;
- Guidelines for working with interactive exercises.
In their work, career consultants apply the following forms of work: individual and group, they provide career information, career counseling, group discussions, etc. The work is carried out in schools, the Youth Center building or in a partnership environment - a real work environment, in administrative and cultural institutions with the participation of representatives of various professions, educational institutions, peers, prominent personalities, etc.
