On June 11, 2023, the Municipal Youth Parliament - Blagoevgrad supported the English Speech and Debate Club "BEST" at the Youth and Youth Center "Acad. Sergey Korolyov", Blagoevgrad, in the charitable initiative "Finally, let the elderly smile!", the funds from which were donated to the "St. Petka" Nursing Home in Blagoevgrad.
The initiative was also supported by the Municipality of Blagoevgrad, Folk-Fitness "Ritmika", FTA "Pirinche" and DYUFA "Pirinska Kitka" at the Center for Personal and Creative Development of Children of Blagoevgrad, Pirin Dance Ensemble "Vihren", Mr. Toni Ishev - sound engineer of the event, as well as by girls from the Center for Family-Type Accommodation for Children "St. Bogoroditsa" in Blagoevgrad. .
At the event, we heard speeches from Ms. Emilia Halilova - Director of the Directorate of Social and Housing Policy, Ms. Desislava Taseva - Chairperson of the Municipal Youth Parliament - Blagoevgrad and Ms. Alexandra Dimova - student leader of the English Speech and Debate Club "BEST" at the Youth and Youth Education Center "Acad. Sergey Korolyov". The event was also graced by the presence of Ms. Tatyana Ivanova - Director of the Home for the Elderly "Sveta Petka", as well as employees of the home.
The program also included Elena Tsushko and Liliya Zhostova - students at the Acad. Sergey Korolyov Preparatory School, who performed a song.
The collected funds of 1600 BGN were donated today (12.06.2023) to a bank account in the name of the English speech and debate coach "BEST" at the "Acad. Sergey Korolyov" Primary and Secondary School - Ms. Tanya Bykova.
We thank everyone involved and the opportunity to be part of an initiative that will not only make adults smile, but has already managed to make everyone who took part in it go home with a pleasant emotion.
