In the teaching methodology, music and the bagpipe are considered as the connecting element between all components of ethnography – folklore traditions, customs and beliefs, ethnographic features of the different regions of Bulgaria, the living stories of our heritage.
The main goal of the lessons is for the children not only to master the technical instrument, but also to realize the meaning of the folklore tradition, to perceive the Bulgarian spirit encoded in it as part and basis of their value system. Each lesson will teach them to seek that charge carried by the melody of the bagpipes, which is above the simple arrangement of sounds and which will lead them by the hand to the power of their roots.
The lessons include theoretical training to get acquainted with the musical instrument and practical mastery of the art of bagpipe playing - mastering the instrument, sound extraction, staging, solfège, rhythm and metrics, studying melodies and techniques.
