In front of the bust-monument of Vasil Levski in Blagoevgrad, students from the School of Journalism and Media Performances at the Central Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts recited Hristo Botev's poem "The Hanging of Vasil Levski" - the saddest poem in Bulgarian literature, a mournful hymn dedicated to the grief of the loss of the Apostle. This is also Botev's last poetic work, which he carried with him for three years to perfect - an exception for an artist who usually writes in one breath.
By choosing this poem, the children expressed their respect for not just one, but two symbols of the Bulgarian revolution – Levski and Botev, realizing that their ideas and pure faith are still needed today.
With the words "Bow, Apostle!" they bowed their heads before his memory and laid carnations as a sign of gratitude.
On behalf of the Center, the youth from the Youth Parliament also presented flowers. The image of Vasil Levski remains eternal - a symbol of immortality and an example of patriotism in the hearts of the Bulgarian people.
