Today, October 26, 2023, the first round of the sixth edition of the Recital Competition on the occasion of the Day of the People's Awakeners was held, organized by the Municipal Youth Parliament - Blagoevgrad at the Central Youth Council of the Republic of Bulgaria. A record number of students from 5th to 12th grade, graduates of the Ivan Iliev PGI, St. Cyril and Methodius National Art School, Ichko Boychev BPG, Georgi Izmirliev V Secondary School, Dimitar Blagoev II Primary School, Dimitar Talev III Primary School, Peyo Yavorov IX Primary School, graduates of the Public Events Children's Studio, Literary Creativity School, St. Kliment Ohridski SU, Arseni Kostentsev VIII Secondary School, Gotse Delchev PGTLP, participated in the initiative. Outside the competition procedure, younger students who carry the love for Bulgarian poetry in their hearts also participated. The main goal of the initiative is to popularize Bulgarian poetry.
It is held in two rounds. Today was the first round, in which over 30 children participated, and tomorrow the distinguished finalists in both age categories will perform.
The Director of the Center, Ms. Bogdana Kostadinova, officially opened the recital competition.
Among the official guests was Ms. Silvia Domozetska, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Directorate in Blagoevgrad Municipality, who wished success to all participants.
In Hall 3, all attendees enjoyed masterpieces of Bulgarian poetry such as: "At Farewell", "The Volunteers of Shipka", "The Hanging of Levski", "Faith", "One Life", "Enchantress" and others.
The jury that evaluated the reciters was composed of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zlatko Pavlov, Lyubima Dimitrova, Kiril Kirilov and Denis Nikiforov.
