The Southwestern International Folklore Festival "Peace in the Balkans" began with a parade of authentic folk costumes, which brought together dance groups from different countries in Blagoevgrad over two days.
The procession of participants, dressed in colorful and colorful traditional folklore costumes, started from the Courthouse, passed through the central pedestrian street "Todor Aleksandrov" and reached "Macedonia" Square, where the festival was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Sports and Tourism Stanislav Kimchev and the director of the Center for Personal and Creative Development of Children of Blagoevgrad Bogdana Kostadinova.
Within two days, the program was filled with many dances by groups from Bulgaria, Albania, Georgia, Greece, Poland, the Republic of North Macedonia and Kosovo.
The festival is organized by the Center for Personal and Creative Development of Children of Blagoevgrad in partnership with the Municipality of Blagoevgrad and the Municipality of Dupnitsa.
